Who Qualifies For Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) Benefits?
There are two requirements for SSDI benefits. First, you must have worked long enough in a job that is covered by social security. Secondly, you must have a medical condition that meets the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) definition of disability. Essentially, you may be entitled to SSDI if you had Social Security taxes removed from your paycheck during your career and you have a disability that is preventing you from working for at least a year.
