Attorney
Natasha Scruggs, a Missouri native, was born and raised in St. Louis where she grew up to excel in both academics and athletics in high school. So much so that she received both academic and athletic scholarships to attend Missouri Southern State University before ultimately completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. It was at Jackson State University where Natasha developed her passion for helping others and righting criminal justice wrongs. Accordingly, after graduation from college she decided to attend law school at the Mississippi College of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate (Law Degree).
During her time in law school Natasha passionately honed her courtroom and criminal law skills through her legal studies and work at state public defenders’ offices in Mississippi, Georgia, and Illinois. After law school she began her legal career here at the Law Offices of Roderick C. White where she also developed a passion for personal injury law and learned how to effectively and successfully help accident/injury victims receive the justice and financial compensation that they so rightfully deserve.
Because Natasha is licensed by the Supreme Court of Missouri, she is eligible to practice in all state courts throughout the great state of Missouri. Additionally, Natasha has been admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri. Further, she is also a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA), the Jackson County Bar Association (JCBA), and the Black Female Bar Association (BFBA).
When Natasha is not working, she prides herself on being a zealous community advocate. In that vein she independently operates “JustUs System, Inc.” which is a local Kansas City-area non-profit organization focused on helping young people avoid and/or effectively navigate the negative consequences of the criminal justice system and stay on track to achieve positive and productive paths. Additionally, she participates in the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce’s efforts to identify and provide employment opportunities for formerly incarcerated individuals re-entering the local workforce.
“I was wrongfully accused, and Natasha Scruggs stood by me when no one else would. Her confidence and dedication throughout the entire process gave me hope. She dug deep into the case and uncovered key evidence that led to the charges being dropped. I highly recommend Natasha to anyone needing a strong criminal defense attorney.”
