legal help for traffic tickets,

Sooner or later we all will receive a few traffic tickets, but it is important to know that what may seem like a few minor traffic tickets will eventually have very negative and long-lasting effects on your driving privileges.  In addition to drastically higher auto insurance premiums, Missouri traffic ticket convictions assess points against your driver’s license that can result in a suspension or complete revocation of your driving privileges. The number of points assessed depends on the severity of the violation.

Below is a non-exhaustive listing of the points associated with just some common Missouri traffic tickets that we can help with:

  • 2 to 8 Points – Speeding (Depending on How Fast Over the Limit)
  • 2 to 4 Points – Negligent/Careless Driving (Reckless Driving)
  • 2 Points – Failure to Yield
  • 2 Points – Failure to Obey Traffic Signal or Sign
  • 2 Points – Improper Passing
  • 2 Points – Following Too Closely
  • 2 Points – Failure to Stop for School Bus
  • 2 Points – Improper Lane Change/Usage
  • 2 Points – Improper Turn
  • 2 Points – Driving on Wrong Side of Road
  • 4 Points – Driving Without Insurance
  • 4 Points – Knowingly Allowing an Unlicensed Driver to Operate a Vehicle
  • 12 Points – Driving with a Suspended/Revoked License
  • 6 to 12 Points – Leaving the Scene of an Accident
  • 12 Points – Obtaining a Driver’s License Through Misrepresentation

If you accumulate four points within 12 months, you will receive a point accumulation advisory from the Missouri Department of Revenue, which is basically a warning.  If you get eight or more points within 18 months, your driving privileges will be suspended for the following periods:

  • First suspension—30 days
  • Second suspension—60 days
  • Third or subsequent suspension—90 days

Your driving privileges will be revoked for one year if you accumulate:

  • 12 points or more in 12 months
  • 18 points or more in 24 months
  • 24 points or more in 36 months

Points are reduced every year you drive without receiving new points on your driving record:

  • After the first year, your remaining points will be reduced by one-third.
  • After two years, the points are reduced by one-half.
  • After three years, the points are reduced to zero.

Traffic tickets for Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) holders can be even more serious than tickets for normal driver’s license holders.  Just a few traffic violations can cause you to lose your CDL and speeding tickets are one of the most common ways for a commercial driver to lose their CDL.  We understand that your CDL is important for your life, family, and employment, so we will work to get your traffic tickets amended to no points, non-moving violations so you can keep your CDL and your employment.

But Don’t Worry Because … We make the entire Missouri traffic ticket process and resolution simple and easy.  Simply contact our team to discuss your tickets then once you hire us, we will take over and handle everything from there.  You can even pay our very reasonable fees online or from your smartphone.
